贝茜•布鲁姆（凯特温斯莱KateWinslet饰）是纽约某新闻杂志的知名记者，她接到了一个任务是去采访一名死刑犯大卫•戈尔（凯文•斯帕西KevinSpacey饰）。戈尔的罪名是强奸并谋杀了康丝坦斯•哈拉维，并将于周五下午6点被处以死刑，那么布鲁姆将要采访并记录的就是戈尔人生最后的三天，而此前戈尔拒绝了一切采访。布鲁姆起初对这个任务很不以为然，但在和戈尔的接触过程中，她发现一切并非表面呈现的那么简单，于是布鲁姆决定用仅剩的三天开始寻找真相……电影《大卫戈尔的一生》的导演艾伦•帕克凭借该片提名2003年柏林国际电影节金熊奖。

1950年，咏春派一代宗师叶问（黄秋生饰）与妻子张永成（袁咏仪饰）带同儿子叶准到澳门生活，继而到香港谋生。一次较量，梁双（洪天明饰）甘拜下风，并拜叶问为师。其后，叶问先后收了李琼（蒋路霞饰）、陈四妹（钟欣桐饰）、邓声（陈小春饰）、汪东（周定宇饰）、吴赞等人为徒。但最瞩目是与红颜知己珍妮（周楚楚饰）一段鲜为人知的事迹。汪东与吴赞好斗，四处与其他门派“讲手”，经常需要叶问调解。某夜，工友们与梁双在天台开会起冲突，叶问出手制伏众人。另一方面，邓声沉迷名利，与贪污警员同流合污。叶问向邓声晓以大义，邓声终暗中协助因引发警民冲突而被捕的李琼获释。1959年，九龙城寨由江湖中人地头龙（熊欣欣饰）统领，经营不良勾当。邓声答应暗助魏霸天（卢伟光饰）的狮队胜出，好让地头龙操控比赛结果。比赛当天，魏霸天偷袭吴忠（曾志伟饰），叶问出手救助吴忠，击败魏霸天。叶问与吴忠成了莫逆之交。

《丰山犬》由金基德旗下的制作公司制作，导演是金基德导演一手栽培的新人导演全宰洪，他曾担任金基德的《时间》、《呼吸》两部作品的助理导演，而他的出道之作《美丽》则获邀参加了第58届柏林电影节的电影大观全景单元展映，消息一出立即成为韩国电影界热门话题。《丰山犬》将定位为动作剧情片，在电影《野兽男孩》和《执行者》中表现不俗的演员尹继相将担任影片主角，并有望在影片中同时展现动作与爱情戏份。曾在纽约求学专攻电影的全宰洪导演与拍摄《义兄弟》的张勋导演，以及《金福南杀人事件始末》得导演张哲秀三人都签约于金基德导演旗下的制作公司，因此也被称作金基德师团。据知情人士透露，与尹继相饰演对手戏的演员A某在韩国影坛是一线女星，目前正在拍摄其他电影之中。《丰山犬》将在11月中旬投入拍摄，并将于明年上半年上映。

年轻军官许文强（张国荣）逃往路上被日本特务伏击堕海，漂浮到外滩岸上时身体不支晕倒，丁力（刘德华）路过欲将其救却遭其下意识的武力，两人一番打斗后结为好友。丁力偶然救下上海大亨冯敬尧（吴兴国）的千金冯程程（宁静）后，许下心愿要娶其为妻，但襄王有梦神女却心另有所属，冯程程只把他当好朋友，爱的恰是某次旅途中在火车上结识的他的好兄弟许文强，而许文强也因她的勇敢善良机智对她产生了好感。许文强再次遇上冯程程时，激情没能控制，与丁力的交情画上句号。而当许文强与冯程程谈婚论嫁时，许文强意外发现冯敬尧正是追杀他和同僚的幕后黑手，他的身份也被对方认出，火药味顿时弥漫房间。
