主人公威尔弗里德·威尔斯是第二次世界大战初期安弗尔的一名警官。当时，镇上发生了暴力示威活动，人们普遍对他不信任，但威尔弗里德却竭尽全力避免麻烦。他得到了一个名叫"卑鄙的胡子"的德国占领军的支持，同时也是他的同事、激烈反纳粹的洛德的知己，洛德还是他未婚妻伊薇特的哥哥。威尔弗雷德必须为生存而战，而纳粹的占领和对犹太人的灭绝正日益成为压迫性的现实。

以天真的儿童眼光，对比成年人压抑的行为脱序，进而反映越南传统家庭社会存在的问题;想像大小只的金鱼活在一个小小的鱼缸当中，由於生活的空间被局限，以至於不能查觉自己的欲望被压抑的状态。剧情内容便隐喻着越南社会的框限，用一个全知的角度观看家中各成员角色的行为。欲望充斥在生活的每个小细节当中，或多或少的影响着我们，有时候驱使着进而行动，但有时候也有可能必须付出代价。“红苹果的欲望”虽遭越南政府审查修剪后才允播，上映后却获得观众高度共鸣。可以见得此片对社会与人性细腻的刻划。本片大胆剖析越南女性的「性压抑」现况，让越南导演潘党迪(PhanDangDi)闯出名号，获亚洲电影节亚洲新导演奖、坎城影展国际影评人奖及最佳编剧奖。内容虽经过越南政府严格审查修剪，但对社会与人性的细腻刻划则在上映后获得观众高度共鸣。在炎热闷湿的某个越南城镇旧宅里，住着一个叁代同堂的平凡家庭。家中有个整天喝酒、与女按摩师厮混的父亲，又有年过三十却依然独处的小姑。而无时无刻都在河边制冰厂玩耍的六岁少年小帕，在保姆的照顾下，生活悠游自得。某天，离家多年又重病缠身的外交官爷爷回到家乡来，他的出现让这个平凡简单的小世界开始起了变化…越南潘党迪导演以天真儿童的视角，窥探成年人压抑后的脱序行为，反映出越南传统社会潜在的问题。片中角色由於生活空间受局限，甚至不能查觉生命欲望遭受压抑，隐喻着越南社会的重重框限。

前知名经纪人余美凤（毛舜筠饰），曾一手捧红多位歌手，却在婚后选择相夫教子。看似婚姻美满的她，在17岁儿子升学之际，断然决定复出乐坛。机缘巧合之下认识了茶餐厅外卖员方晴（姜涛饰），方晴内心对唱歌跳舞充满热诚也相当有天赋。让美凤重新燃起了做经纪人的希望，正式出道后。方晴大火，美凤也在职场上锋芒毕露，儿子子轩（柳应廷饰）感到妈妈的转变，再加上父亲的突然搬走，让他心里更是不安，母子感情也因此备受考验。与此同时，方晴接到海外公司邀约，请他到海外发展。而方晴的唯一条件是美凤必须跟随……美凤也在儿子与方晴之间面临抉择。
