李东阳和刘秋叶是一对恋人，因无法偿还网络贷款遭遇暴力催债，两人逃亡大竹山，经老权介绍村里大龄光棍王大竹，两人商量假结婚骗取彩礼还网贷。李东阳拿着彩礼逃出大竹山，刘秋叶逃跑被王大竹带人抓获，从此囚禁于家中受尽凌辱，期间李东阳回来解救刘秋叶失败惨遭王大竹和王富贵的毒打。王富贵也惦记着刘秋叶准备将其占有，遂与王大竹发生矛盾，从此李东阳王大竹和王富贵三人展开斗智斗勇纠缠，刘秋叶惨遭三个男人的争夺却无法脱身于大山之中。

布基兰小镇的伐木工人刘志（丁建均饰）因偷窃被警察老刘抓获，但好心的老刘（王宇饰）看到刘志贫困的家不但没逮他还送了米和油，刘志心生愧疚，剁下自己三根手指，老刘找人帮他接了手指又因感染小镇不能医治，想尽快送他去大医院，但小站因为火车提速快车不停，当大家都在为快车不能停而担心的时候，快车在车站却意外停了下来……而整个故事都是在腊八夜的当晚发生。不同人物命运的交织让故事情暖人间。

故事发生在解放前的上海。父母双亡后，三毛（文彬彬饰）在乡下生活无着，只好来上海投奔原先乡下邻居姐姐（马秋影饰）。姐夫（俞祥明饰）是个上海滩混混头目，他教三毛当小偷，正直的三毛不愿干这种下三烂营生，被姐夫轰出家门。流落街头的三毛靠乞讨为生，后被剃头师父（刘侠声饰）收留，暂时有了栖身之处。师娘（夏静饰）埋怨丈夫收留这个大街上捡来的野孩子，加之当时物价飞涨，经常入不敷出，三毛就成了出气筒。手艺还未学成，不久三毛被转送给算命骗人的吴瞎子（范哈哈饰）。常言道，人瞎心狠，他动不动虐待折磨伺候他的三毛和穷孩子小英（嫩娘饰）。度日如年的三毛不甘心就这样苟活下去，他决定设计报复这个害人的瞎子......
