以天真的儿童眼光，对比成年人压抑的行为脱序，进而反映越南传统家庭社会存在的问题;想像大小只的金鱼活在一个小小的鱼缸当中，由於生活的空间被局限，以至於不能查觉自己的欲望被压抑的状态。剧情内容便隐喻着越南社会的框限，用一个全知的角度观看家中各成员角色的行为。欲望充斥在生活的每个小细节当中，或多或少的影响着我们，有时候驱使着进而行动，但有时候也有可能必须付出代价。“红苹果的欲望”虽遭越南政府审查修剪后才允播，上映后却获得观众高度共鸣。可以见得此片对社会与人性细腻的刻划。本片大胆剖析越南女性的「性压抑」现况，让越南导演潘党迪(PhanDangDi)闯出名号，获亚洲电影节亚洲新导演奖、坎城影展国际影评人奖及最佳编剧奖。内容虽经过越南政府严格审查修剪，但对社会与人性的细腻刻划则在上映后获得观众高度共鸣。在炎热闷湿的某个越南城镇旧宅里，住着一个叁代同堂的平凡家庭。家中有个整天喝酒、与女按摩师厮混的父亲，又有年过三十却依然独处的小姑。而无时无刻都在河边制冰厂玩耍的六岁少年小帕，在保姆的照顾下，生活悠游自得。某天，离家多年又重病缠身的外交官爷爷回到家乡来，他的出现让这个平凡简单的小世界开始起了变化…越南潘党迪导演以天真儿童的视角，窥探成年人压抑后的脱序行为，反映出越南传统社会潜在的问题。片中角色由於生活空间受局限，甚至不能查觉生命欲望遭受压抑，隐喻着越南社会的重重框限。

影片改编自同名网络小说。平凡上班族金独子（安孝燮饰），唯一嗜好是阅读网络小说《在灭亡的世界中存活的三种方法》，不过在长达十年的连载期间，他却是这个小说的唯一读者。当金独子在地铁车厢读完小说最终话时，小说中的场景却转瞬成为现实。地铁车厢仿佛成为人间炼狱，巨大怪物正践踏着这座城市，以及凭空出现在眼前的讯息：“您收到了第一个主线任务。”紧接着，熟悉的小说角色纷纷登场，而那个无比强大、牵动着整个世界命运的小说主角刘众赫（李敏镐饰），开始照着剧情一一行动。眼看熟悉的世界将不复返，一个崭新的世界正在诞生，身为唯一知晓这个新世界结局的金独子，将在升级自身能力的同时，打造出与原本小说截然不同的结局。

公元2020年，云集了无数顶尖科学家的世界空间站（WorldSpaceStation）正在进行一项载人飞船火星登陆计划。由卢克·格莱姆（DonCheadle饰）率领的4人小组成功抵达这颗无人星球，他们在此发现一些奇怪景象，随后小组成员也接连毙命。为了调查这起悲剧的原因并寻找可能的生还者，空间站派出伍迪·布雷克（蒂姆·罗宾斯TimRobbins饰）率领的救援小组前往火星。然而救援小组也遭遇诸多磨难，船体损坏、机器失灵、燃料泄漏、成员死亡等等，无一不在消磨着救援人员的斗志。抵达火星后，布雷克他们找到了卢克船长，继而发现亿外年前外星人留在火星上的遗迹和信息，这一切都与人类有着千丝万缕的关系……
