布基兰小镇的伐木工人刘志（丁建均饰）因偷窃被警察老刘抓获，但好心的老刘（王宇饰）看到刘志贫困的家不但没逮他还送了米和油，刘志心生愧疚，剁下自己三根手指，老刘找人帮他接了手指又因感染小镇不能医治，想尽快送他去大医院，但小站因为火车提速快车不停，当大家都在为快车不能停而担心的时候，快车在车站却意外停了下来……而整个故事都是在腊八夜的当晚发生。不同人物命运的交织让故事情暖人间。

雄心勃勃的酒店经理莱尔克抓住了一个千载难逢的机会，她的老板派她去西班牙马拉加，在芒果农场中间开发一家宏伟的新酒店。这个农场属于亚历克斯，他是一名前律师，由于他无法释怀的悲惨过去而拒绝出售。莱尔克带着她的女儿艾格尼丝一起来，她期待着与忙碌的母亲度过一个难得的假期，至少她是这么认为的。随着莱尔克和亚历克斯之间意想不到的感情开始绽放，两人都被迫做出影响他们的事业、家庭关系，并最终影响他们心灵的选择。

前知名经纪人余美凤（毛舜筠饰），曾一手捧红多位歌手，却在婚后选择相夫教子。看似婚姻美满的她，在17岁儿子升学之际，断然决定复出乐坛。机缘巧合之下认识了茶餐厅外卖员方晴（姜涛饰），方晴内心对唱歌跳舞充满热诚也相当有天赋。让美凤重新燃起了做经纪人的希望，正式出道后。方晴大火，美凤也在职场上锋芒毕露，儿子子轩（柳应廷饰）感到妈妈的转变，再加上父亲的突然搬走，让他心里更是不安，母子感情也因此备受考验。与此同时，方晴接到海外公司邀约，请他到海外发展。而方晴的唯一条件是美凤必须跟随……美凤也在儿子与方晴之间面临抉择。

该片改编自同名小说，素材取自于2011年发生的加湿器杀菌剂事件，通过这个事件来讲述有些事情必须有人去做，还没有结束的我们所有人的故事。金相庆饰演因不明的肺部疾病而失去了妻子，儿子的生命也受到威胁的外科医生“郑泰浩”，徐英姬饰演他的妻子“韩吉珠”，李先彬饰演曾经在地方检察院担任检察官，但因为姐姐吉珠的死亡成为律师的“韩英珠”，尹京浩饰演加湿器杀菌剂制药公司的科长“徐宇植”。
