闵熙道（申河均饰）是一位名不见经传的街头画家，他和女友恩雅（李恩成饰）相恋多年，将恩雅视作自己最重要的人。这样一个不起眼的小人物，在某一日却意外接到了一通诡异的来电，电话那头的，是在金融界里呼风唤雨的富豪姜鲁植（边熙奉饰），后者以高额奖金为诱饵，邀请闵熙道前往他的别墅参加一个游戏。就这样，闵熙道被卷入了一场精心策划的阴谋之中，毫不意外的输给了姜鲁植，而他所要付出的代价，就是失去所有，包括自己作为一个独立的人的权利。陷入绝望之中的闵熙道遇见了叔叔泰锡（孙贤周饰），两人找到了姜鲁植的妻子慧琳（李慧英饰），向她请教反败为胜的方法。

内蒙古鄂尔多斯市准格尔旗公安局长郝万忠英年早逝后，以新华社记者沿着他的人生足迹采访其亲人、同事、工作对象的过程中再现出了一个见不得百姓受苦、嫉恶如仇、在工作干为上尽职尽责，充满了情怀的公安局长形象。郝万忠（王景春饰）在十七年的从警生涯中，留下了六十八本工作日记。从他做刑警接触的第一桩重大命案——至今未破的悬案，到临终前的全局工作计划，详细记载了他每天的工作安排、案情分析、人生感悟，以及对那桩悬案的多次重新梳理和研究。正是这些平凡的点点滴滴让我们看到了一名基层公安局长的艰辛、不舍和追求；还有一名标准警察所具有的职业基因。
